Whatever It Takes

I know I can make it through…

***

Ehmahgawd! I’ve been so busy, that I haven’t had time to update. So I decided to give you girlies a long post with a few updates!

College has seriously been taking up all of my time, especially now since it’s really close to the end of the semester. Claire and I have so many assignments and papers to do. It’s insane! So basically we’ve just been spending all our time in front of our laptops doing homework. Luckily, we’ve been able to get a good amount of it started and we got something else that was totally stressful out of the way. That being registration! Registering for the next semester is always SO nerve wracking because everyone logs on the university’s site at the same time and sometimes the site slows down or freezes. Plus you’re trying to be able to get the classes you need with the schedule you want and you have to worry about the class being closed. Thankfully, Claire and I both got the schedule and classes we wanted!

Now all we have to worry about are finals in December…and my grade in the hardest class ever! It’s a computer science class about database systems and it really makes no sense to me. I have a C in the class and I know that’s better than failing, but still I’d like at least a B-, but luckily I still have a chance before finals to fix that. The professor gave us a final assignment, group project, a second midterm, and then of course we’ll have a final. So fingers crossed that I get that B-!

Now that you know what’s been going on with college life, let’s get to the good stuff!

Remember in my post from September when I said I ran into Derrick at Slice of Heaven? Well it happened again not too long after that. It happened when Claire and I had to make a late night run to Target…you know what? Maybe I should just tell the story as a flashback…

*Flashback*

Sometime in September

The Apartment

8:45 pm

Claire and I were unpacking the boxes labeled ‘bathroom’ on them and Ellie Goulding’s Starry Eyed was playing in the background. I was unpacking the box with the stuff for the medicine cabinet and Claire just got done hanging the shower curtain. Next thing I knew, Claire was standing on the side of the bathtub and a part of the shower curtain.

I turned around and gave her a ‘wtf look’ and raised my eyebrow, “What are you doing?” She looked like she was concentrating on something really hard.

“The light…” She was staring at the bathroom light above the mirror, which had two light bulbs in it.

I let our a small laugh, “What about it?” I now turned to look at it too.

“It looks like the one light bulb is about to –” She didn’t get the chance to finish her sentence because the left light bulb blew out. I now get why she was looking at it.

“Well then…we need light bulbs.” I say while walking out of the bathroom to get a notepad in order to write a reminder.

Claire laughed and then started to get off the side of the tub. However, that didn’t turn out so well. Claire started to slide forward off the side of the tub, the piece of the shower curtain still under her feet and sliding with her. Before either of us knew it, Claire had landed feet first on the floor with the shower curtain now half in the tub and half still under her feet.

We stood there just looking at each other for awhile before I finally spoke, “Claire, you broke the shower curtain!” We lost it after that. We giggled uncontrollably for what seemed like forever before we finally composed ourselves enough to stand up straight.

I wiped the tears from my eyes from laughing so hard, “Now what do we do?” I still had the remains of our laughing fit in my tone of voice.

Claire let out a few more giggles before finally getting it out, “Looks like we’re taking a late night trip to Target!”

It wasn’t long before we were walking into Target and grabbing a cart.

“We should get a couple groceries too.” Claire said while pushing the red plastic cart towards the food aisle.

We decided to try to start eating healthy so we grabbed a lot of vegetable, fruits, and some whole grain bread. But of course we eventually cracked and grabbed some ice cream and cookie dough.

We continued to walk all around Target when Claire and I spotted the Halloween section and went crazy in it. Needless to say, we ended up with a cart full of Halloween stuff that we really didn’t need and now there’s a bunch of people in Westchester that think we’re crazy because we did a weird, random happy dance when we saw Candy Corn Oreos.

We were having so much fun in the Halloween section, that we forgot why we even came to Target in the first place.

“Umm Claire?” She stopped doing the happy Oreos dance and looked at my questioningly, “We still forgot to get a shower curtain and light bulbs!” We both laughed and went off to find the items we came for.

When we finally had them, we were on our way to check out.

The lines are kind of long even though it’s almost ten.” Claire observed and I could only shrug. We got bored with waiting, so we started to laugh at random things and do weird dances. Before we knew it, we were next in line and when I looked up quickly, the cashier was giving us weird looks.

I then did a double take.

The cashier was Derrick.

He fake gasped, “Block isn’t afraid to act crazy in public?” He smirked at me and I just rolled my eyes, a small smile playing at my lips.

“I’m not the same Block I was back then, Derrick.” I smiled at while Claire and I started unloading the cart.

“Well maybe I should get to know this new Block then.” He once again smirked at me. “What are you guys doing here this late anyway?”

“Claire broke the shower curtain.” I told him while pointing to Claire. I looked over at her and we both started laughing again. When we finally stopped, we looked over to see the look on Derrick’s face. He was looking at us like we’ve gone crazy. That just made us start laughing all over again.

Derrick started to say something, but he was interrupted by a tall guy with dark hair and two different colored eyes. Cam.

“Are you almost done for the night, Derrick? We really need cram for that psychology test tomorrow.” Cam spoke to Derrick before looking over to Claire and I. Realization dawned on his face when he noticed who we are.

“You guys are back?” He asked with a happy tone in his voice. Claire, who was standing with her back to him while unloading the cart, turned at the sound of his voice.

“Cammi?!” The biggest smile appeared on her face and she ran over to hug him. I smiled at the two. When Claire came out to England to live with me, she of course had to leave Cam behind. It was hard on them both, but they still kept in contact and the promise that they wouldn’t see any other people while they were apart. I knew it wasn’t going to be long before the two of them were being buttercream sweet on each other again.

I noticed Derrick was also smiling at them, “Well looks like we’ll all have to get together soon and catch up.” He looked to me for approval.

I smiled back at him, “Yeah definitely.”

After that exchange, we started to reload the cart with our bags and said goodbye to the guys after they gave us their numbers.

*End Flashback*

Ever since then, all four of us have been spending a lot of time together. We hang out together, help each other study, and Derrick and Cam even helped us finish getting the apartment set up. We’ve become a close group of friends during these last two months.

As for me and Derrick…we actually get along really well. Surprisingly, he’s been very sweet. He helped me with a paper, he came over late at night when I needed help with something (I saw a giant spider…seriously…the thing was MASSIVE!), and he even brought me soup when I was sick last month even though it was late.

And that’s everything that’s been going on in my life lately. Oh yeah and I’m officially 20 now! :p

Now I must go because Claire and I need to straighten up the apartment. She says hi by the way!

Lots of Love,

Massie Hope Block ♥

Slice of the Past

Know how I said in my last post that I ran into Derrick after almost 7 years? Well here’s how that went down…

A few nights ago Claire and I were unpacking boxes of our stuff and still trying to set everything up in the apartment. Since we only just moved in, we had a lot of work to do…we have SO much stuff!

We were working on unpacking kitchen utensils when Claire suddenly stopped, “We haven’t stopped unpacking all day and it’s 12:50am…let’s get something to eat.”

I gave a slight laugh, “We don’t have anything to eat in here. We’ve been too busy trying to get settled to go food shopping.”

“That’s why I said let’s get something to eat…let’s go out right now and find a place that stays open all night!” I raised an eyebrow at her over excitement. “What’s the look for, Mass?”

“Someone’s a little too excited just for going out to get food…” I laughed.

“Well all we’ve been doing lately is unpacking. I just want to get out! I need to see the outside world!” Leave it to Claire to fake being overdramatic. I shook my head at my best friend and gave her a questioning look.

“What place is even open at this time?” Claire smiled, already putting her flip-flops on, and started walking out of the kitchen.

“Slice of Heaven!” She grabbed the keys and I smiled at the memories we had there with everyone.

“I could SO go for some cheese fries right now!” I realized just how hungry I was. After I said that, I heard Claire gasp dramatically “What?”

“The Massie Hope Block wants cheese fries?!” I couldn’t help but laugh at the fake surprised look on her face. Every once in awhile when I said I wanted something unhealthy, like fries or even gummies, Claire would do this because of the way I used to be when we were younger and didn’t eat that kind of stuff. I once again shook my head at the girl in front of me and grabbed the throw pillow that was near me.

She tried to get out of the way in time, but failed causing us both to laugh again, “Come on let’s go already! I want those cheese fries!” and out the door we went.

We were happy to see that not only was the Slice of Heaven still definitely open, but it was also pretty much empty…except for a couple of good looking guys.

While Claire was ordering our food I was trying to sneak peeks at the cute guys, that was cut short when I noticed Claire trying to get my attention, “What?”

“You know that one guy over there has been staring at you for awhile…” I looked over to the guy she was talking about. Wow was he cute! But he had a surprised/shocked look on his face…I wondered why…

“Block?” The cute guy spoke up, still looking at me with a surprised look. It took me a few seconds to realize he just said my last name, but there was only ever one person who called me by my last name and that was…

“Derrick…” I whispered with a look of surprise coming out on my own face. I heard Claire give a small gasp next to me, this time it wasn’t an overdramatic fake one.

I was still in shock over seeing Derrick for the first time in years, that I didn’t know what to do. It was like my feet were stuck to the ground. We just kept staring at each other, then I noticed him start to walk over to me.

So I did the first thing I could think of. I took our food, grabbed Claire’s arm, and turned and ran out the door back to our apartment before he had the chance to reach me.

I already know I’m going to run into him again…and probably sooner than I’d like since he knows I’m back now. I just have no idea why I reacted like that…I usually can keep my calm…

I can’t believe what Derrick looks like now though! Seriously guys he’s really good looking…

Finally Back in Westchester

After almost 7 years, I’m finally back home in Westchester! As you know I moved to England during eighth grade because my dad got a job over there. At first I really missed New York and the Pretty Committee of course, but I eventually started to really love England. Our house was nice, the stores and fashion they had there was ah-mazing, and the guys were cute! 😉

Although I grew to love it in England…there were a few things that happened that weren’t so great.

When I first moved out there, I would always be in constant contact with TPC. We would text, Facebook, Skype, and I even went back to Westchester during Christmas break a year after I moved there. After awhile though, the girls started getting really busy with school, different activities, family life, and of course the timezone became a problem. We eventually drifted apart and stopped talking.

The only person from Westchester I continued to talk to was Claire. We became closer because of this and she even came out to visit me a few times a year. She truly became my best friend that I could tell everything to.

Which is why I was glad to still have her…especially after what happened with James.

James is the guys I met on the plane to London. He was sooo cute and he had dimples! Hermia, the psychic, actually predicted that I would meet him and that he would be apart of my new life in London. Well we both went to the same school and started becoming friends when he eventually asked me out! That was seriously one of the happiest days of my life.

So we were together for a long time. We became close and not only was he my boyfriend, but he was my best friend too.

For the first time, I actually knew what it felt like to be truly in love…too bad he didn’t feel the same…

At the end of junior year there was a party that the entire junior class went to, to celebrate the end of the school year and the fact that we would be seniors the next year. James said he wouldn’t be able to go, so I told him that I wasn’t going to go either. I really didn’t want to go without him. But later I decided to just go and have some fun. Guess who was there? That’s right…James. With another girl. Turns out he was cheating on me for a long time.

I was so upset and hurting after that. I ran home to call Claire all about it. She told me that she would come and visit me that summer so wouldn’t have to sit around and cry over James.

It didn’t take too long to get over him once Claire was there. We had the best time ever! It was just what I needed.

But the end of the summer was coming fast. I didn’t want my best friend to leave and she didn’t either. That’s when we got the idea to ask our parents if she could stay in England with me for senior year and guess what? They agreed to it!

Senior year was definitely the best year ever because I had my best friend there to experience it with me. Claire later decided to stay in England with me for another year and go to college there.

However, after our first year of college we decided to move back to Westchester and finish college here. We only just got back a few weeks ago and found a lovely apartment to share.

I still haven’t ran into the girls yet, but I did see someone I have’t spoken to since I left…Derrick!

I’ll need a separate blog post for that one…

Lots of Love,

Massie Hope ❤

A Note from the person behind this account:

I made Massie older because I always wondered what she would be like and if she changed a little. I also wanted to do something different. So this Massie is almost 20 and she has changed. She doesn’t have the snobbiness anymore, she’ll wear anything as long as she finds it cute, but she’s still the same Massie we all know and love.

Also if anyone wants to be older versions of the other girls let me know! It’ll be all up to you to decide how they turned out.

Ready to start posting!

I finally have my blog finished…well almost finished. I still have to add things under the fashion & beauty tab and the massie’s picks of the month tab, but that can be done later.

I’ll have my first real post up later today!
